2nd Grade Campout

Afton's class

The 2nd grade at Afton's school had a campout activity at the end of September. Her teacher asked a few mom's to help him get prepared for the activity. We had to help make some decorations and then set up the classroom. The mom's had a great time trying to make paper mache rocks. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Our rocks looked a little sad when we started but in the end they turned out to be pretty good looking rocks. I was able to go help in the classroom the day of the campout. It was such a fun activity for the kids. In her classroom, their teacher told a scary story around a campfire. It was a true story about him and his brother when they were little. Then he talked about his pet tarantula and snake. He had remote control ones hiding in the classroom and I got to control the tarantula. It was hilarious! I've never heard kids scream that loud. In the other classrooms, they got to make smores and sing songs and learn about constellations. What a fun activity!

Sitting around the campfire and listening to the scary story.
The scary tarantula.
The awesome decorations! It turned out really cool. You can see some of our awesome rocks.
