I can't believe that Halloween has come and gone. I feel like I've been getting ready for Halloween forever and now it's all over. Time just flies by so fast. We had a great Halloween this year. I really wanted to dress up as a family together and after some serious convincing I got Jason to join in the fun. I was so excited to get to dress up, but it sure is a lot of work, getting the kids dressed up and then myself and my husband. I'm so thankful that my mom was with us this Halloween. If she wasn't here, there's no way that this would've all come together. Thanks Mom! You're the best. She helped me with the costumes and made a sweet costume for me. I'm sure you've guessed it by now because of the picture, we were all Star Wars characters. I was Princess Leia, Jason was Han Solo, Dax was Darth Vader (or his words Dark Mater), Afton was Padme and Logan was R2D2. It was really lots of fun and I'm glad that everyone went along with it. Well, Logan didn't enjoy his costume very much. It was fleece so he was really hot and the night before he flicked himself in the face with the elastic on his hat so he wouldn't wear the hat on Halloween. I think he wore his costume for maybe a half an hour. I was really bummed because his costume was so cute. So today I put it back on him and got some cute pictures. I'm such a mean mom.
We're so awesome. R2D2 was having some technical difficulties on the ground.

I decided to put a few silver pipe cleaners in her hair on Halloween.
For Halloween, our ward had a Carnival and Trunk-or-treat at our church. I'm still on the activities committee so I had to help with all of that. It's hard to get all set up for the party and then rush home to get myself and my kids ready for Halloween. But we made it and it was lots of fun and there were tons of people there. We moved it into our church because of rain and it was so crowded and hot. But the night was fun and we had a lot of people there who weren't members. There was a costume parade again this year and Afton one for the second time. She won for cutest princess. Last year her Miss Piggy costume won cutest costume. The kids had lots of fun. They loved the carnival games and filling up their buckets with tons of candy. We got back to our house around 8:30 so we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. We stopped at a house where there was a boy sitting at a window with a big scary mask on (he didn't look real) and when the kids went to the door they walked right by him. Then he said something to the kids in a scary voice and Dax about had a heart attack. It was hilarious. I knew that there was someone wearing the mask, so I was just waiting for it to happen. Dax turned around and looked at him and then bolted back to me. He wouldn't go back to get any candy. He was so scared. Finally the boy took his mask off, but Dax still didn't want to go. We told him to put his mask on so he could scare the boy. So he did and then went and got some candy. I laughed so hard I was crying.
We had a petting zoo set up outside. There were some rabbits, goats, puppies and ponies.
This was Logan's favorite part of the night. He loves dogs and was trying to bark at it.
Don't we make a cute couple?
Dax and Avery. Seriously, they are inseparable.

I guess he decided he didn't love princess Leia anymore.

This other little boy was Luke Skywalker so they decided to have a lightsaber fight.

This is Dax and his buddy, Garrett, from preschool.

This is what my hair looked like by the end of the night.

Going trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

This is Kaitlyn and her mom Annette (aka Maleficent). Kaitlyn sometimes babysits the kids and they stopped by our house to see them and went with us trick-or-treating.

Afton was Snow White for Kindergarten. This last week was red ribbon week for her school. They were suppose to dress up as their favorite storybook character on Friday. She chose Snow White.
Whew! That was a long post with lots of pictures. Hope you enjoy it!
