Easter Sunday

We had a such a great Easter this year. We had family in town and the kids were really excited for the special day. Afton and Dax were so excited on Easter morning. After going through their baskets, they couldn't wait to hunt for their Easter eggs. I think the egg hunt was more exciting than the actual presents in the Easter basket. And they even got Mario Kart! Jason and I were pretty excited for that gift. Anyway, when we started the hunt they both ran around the living room trying to find their eggs. Even Logan got in on the action, although he figured out how to open the eggs and was eating all of the candy. That kid loves candy!

Logan with a mouthful of candy.

Why is it so hard to get a decent picture of all of your kids together? I got some good ones of Afton and Kya, but when I attempted my kids together, Dax and Logan wouldn't cooperate. When one would, the other wouldn't. I guess I got an ok picture, but one of them together with their arms around each other and smiling would be perfect. Maybe one day.

Dax, Afton and Logan in their super cute easter clothes!
I love this little guy in ties. They look so darn cute on him.

They definitely look like cousins.

I know Dax looks like he's in pain trying to smile in this picture. That's just how he smiles sometimes.
I love when Afton wears purple. It's so pretty on her.
This one was a pretty good picture. They were all smiling.

And I have to thank my mother-in-law. She is so great. She got the Sunday Easter clothes for all of my kids and they were so cute! She does such a great job with her shopping skills. My kids are always well dressed because of her. Thanks Sharon!

Church was extra extra special this day. One, it was Easter and two my awesome husband spoke in Sacrament meeting. He's so calm and collective when he speaks. I wish I could be more like that. He did a great job. The whole meeting was really great. There were a couple talks on the Savior and his resurrection. And Jason spoke on the Life of Christ and based part of it on Elder Holland's talk in the last Conference Session. I loved that talk by Elder Holland. It just reminds me how amazing Jesus Christ is and all that he did for us. I'm so happy that we have this time of year to reflect on his life and resurrection. It makes me want to be a better person and be more like our Savior. I know that he lives and that one day we will all see him again.

After church, we headed over to Grandma Joy's house (not my grandma joy, Jason's aunt's mom, her name is Joy too and the kids call her grandma). We always go to her house for Easter. They have a yummy dinner and then a fun easter egg hunt and then we get to play a mean game of outdoor soccer. The kids had a great time hunting for clues to the eggs and playing with their cousins. And we had an awesome soccer game! It was really fun this year, although I got kicked in the shin and knee, but I survived. Just a few bruises. I think we decided that next year we're going to shoes and shin guards. We're getting too old for bare foot soccer. It really does a number on your feet. I'm so glad that we have family close by to spend time with on these special days.

The awesome soccer game. I never played soccer growing up, but I really enjoy it. It's definitely a good workout.
