We were very busy this Halloween with parties and pumpkin patches and of course trick-or-treating. And I didn't want to be my usual slacker self so I was determined to post all of our Halloween fun, although I'm still way behind with other things we've been doing. Hopefully I'll get to that soon. Maybe this post will get me in a happy posting mood and I'll just keep on going. I guess I'll start with our Halloween and then work my way backwards with the other fun activities we've been doing.
We started off our Halloween by going to Denny's for breakfast. We went there a while back and the kids have been begging to go again so we thought it would be fun to go Halloween morning. After breakfast, I put together a little "Spooky" treasure hunt for the kids. They love doing scavenger hunts and were very excited to go on a Halloween one. It ended with their treasure (the new Ice Age movie) in a pumpkin.
After the treasure hunt and watching their new movie, we got ready to go trick-or-treating. Both the boys were pirates and Afton was a cheetah. Afton and Dax were very excited to go trick-or-treating and couldn't wait to go. We met up with our friend's, the Fallentines, and decided to go trick-or-treating around their neighborhood. They live in a fairly new subdivision so a lot of people who live in the country come to this neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. I guess everyone who lives in the country goes to that neighborhood. I couldn't believe how crazy it was. There were so many people. We'd go up to people's doors and there would be like 20 or more kids at the door. It was nuts! But the kids had a good time. Dax was always out in front racing to the next house. And we have way too much candy. It's ridiculous how much the kids got. I think we have like three big bowls full of candy.
Pirate Dax and Cheetah Afton (we actually called her the floppy eared toothless Cheetah. One of the cheetah ears just wouldn't stay up and of course she's still missing several teeth)
We borrowed this very cute costume from my mom. Thanks mom! We got lots of cute comments on it.
Arrrrh Matey's!!
Logan wouldn't get in a picture with the kids so Jason had to hold him. He was also a pirate but he wouldn't wear half of his costume (missing pieces--a bandanna and a sash)
Doing some serious trick-or-treating. I don't know if you can see them very well, but in the bottom right picture they are holding their trick-or-treat bags. My mother-in-law made them for the kids and they turned out so cute. She asked what they were going to be for Halloween and tied that into their bags. Afton had some cheetah print on hers and the boys had pirate stuff on theirs. They were so cute and a perfect size for trick-or-treating. Thanks Sharon!
