Afton's fun day

Well as soon as Afton woke up, which was bright and early as usual, she came running into our room and was dying to open her presents. I had set them all up on our couch the night before and when she woke up and saw them all there she couldn't contain herself. She had previously wanted to open all of her presents the night of her birthday after celebrating and having cake and ice cream, but we knew that probably wouldn't be the case. She was just so excited and wanted to open them all. So that's what she did at 7 in the morning...opened her presents. She got some really great stuff. She opened presents from us and then from her grandma's and grandpa's and her aunt Kari, uncle Ben and Kya. She got their presents a few days ago in the mail and that's when all of the excitement started. It's hard to get presents early and then not be able to open them until your birthday, but she was a strong girl and waited patiently.

After opening presents, she was even more excited to go to school and share her treat with the class. And I think she was just a little excited to have everyone sing to her. I guess they get to sit in the teacher's chair while the class sings Happy Birthday to them. For her birthday treat we got chocolate donuts with pink sprinkles. I thought it would be fun to bring something a little different then cupcakes or cookies, so we brought donuts and juice. And Afton said they were a big hit.

After we picked Afton up from school I had a little surprise for her birthday. She didn't know anything about it and I was really excited and a little sad to give it to her. When we got there Jason picked up the boys and I stayed with Afton to take her for her surprise. I finally gave in and decided that Afton could get her hair cut. I thought it would be a fun surprise for her birthday and it was! When I told her what we were doing she got this really big smile on her face and said "Really?" She was so happy and excited. We went to Misty's friend, Tami's, house to get her haircut. Tami does such a fabulous job with hair and she loves to do little girl haircuts so I thought it would be perfect for Afton. But I have to tell you I was so nervous and I thought I might cry. I love Afton's long hair and was really having a hard time with the fact that she wanted to cut it so bad. I know I'm a baby, but it really was hard for me. I guess it's only hair and it will grow back one day. I decided that if she wanted to cut it that we were going to donate it, so we didn't just do a little haircut we dived right in. We cut off about 12 inches!!! The braid was about 11 inches and then Tami did some more cutting and it's too her chin! And I love it!! I knew that I was going to have a hard time with it, but I didn't think I would love it as much as I do. It turned out so cute and it looks great on Afton. It fits her cute little face and I think it makes her look older. Tami you did an awesome job! Thanks so much! I really do love it and Afton loves it too. She was so excited to show everyone and she kept swinging her hair back and forth. It was so funny. I kept looking at her and thinking she had her hair tucked into her shirt. It will probably take a little while to get use to, but I really do love it and I think it's great that she can donate her hair to Locks of Love. She thinks it's cool that they're going to make a wig out of it.

Getting ready for the hair cut. I can't believe how long her hair was.

The 11 inch braid.

Chopping it! AHHHH!
All gone
Her lovely hair that we'll donate.

The new do! I love it!

The back is really cute too.

She's all ready to go show everyone.

After the haircut, we went to McDonald's for dinner. That's where Afton wanted to go for her b-day dinner. Misty, Dylen, Max, Jared, Val, Michael, and Brisa met us there. The kids had a great time running around and being super loud. It was perfect because there was no one else there. After dinner, we headed over to the Daley's for some cake and ice cream. Afton was excited again to have everyone sing to her and then she got to open even more presents. She was so happy, but a little tired from the long day. It turned out to be a great day and Afton said that she had a really fun birthday.

Talking on the phone to her great-grandma Joy and great-grandpa Delbert. They are my grandparents and call everyone on their birthdays and sing too them. We are so lucky! She also got several phone calls from family and friends during the day.

Of course we had to do a silly face picture. I forgot to get one of Afton and Dax together. Their hair is about the same length now. I think Daxon's may be a little bit longer.

They love this chair at Jody's house. It spins and they all cram on there to spin really fast.

Spinning!

Max and Logan's turn

At the end of the night the kids had a great time on the fireplace. They were jumping off of it. As you can see Logan landed right on Max's behind.

And then they put a show on for us with Logan doing the vocals and Max playing the guitar.
