Two Wheels

For the last week, Jason has been working with Afton on riding her bike. They've been going down to our church and practicing in the parking lot. She's been doing a great job and getting closer to riding on her own. She'll go for a little bit without help and then realizes that Jason isn't behind her anymore and stops peddling. So we just have to work on her not being scared. I think when we conquer the fear part she'll be riding on two wheels in no time. But she's been having lots of fun practicing with her daddy......

.......Well, I started writing this post Monday morning and then Monday night Afton surprised us all and was officially riding on her own with no training wheels. We are so proud of her! After some hard work and determination she finally did it. It's such a sense of accomplishment when your first child rides on two wheels for the first time. Jason did a great job teaching her and running behind her and making sure that she didn't give up. Afton is so happy now that she can ride on two wheels. She wants to ride her bike all of the time. She can even start by herself. It took her a few times to get that down, but now she's like a pro. I'm just waiting for that big crash to happen. It's seems like that always happens with kids, they learn something, get use to it and then bam a big wreck and then they're scared again. Hopefully, that won't happen with Afton. She's already fallen a few times, nothing major yet so I hope it stays that way. We are so proud of her. Way to go Afton!!

The first set of pictures are when she learned to ride on two wheels without help. I have video but I'm having trouble getting it to upload so I'll try it again later. The second set of pictures are before she learned and was practicing.

There's this fun tree at the church that the kids were trying to climb.

Afton and Logan. Logan wasn't too thrilled to be sitting on the tree.

They all look a little scared.

My goofy husband.

These are the second set of pictures.

She definitely needs a bigger bike now.

Logan with his wheels! He loves that little lawnmower.

Logan wanted to be like Jason and push Afton around.

The boys were getting bored and wanted to go in the church and play basketball.

Logan was playing peek-a-boo with me in Jason's truck.
