daddy-daughter campout and baby shower

Every year our ward does a daddy-daughter camp out and this year they had it on Aug. 8th-9th. Afton was so excited and I think she has been excited since the one last year. She loves to spend time with her daddy. They left around 6 p.m. and headed to the campsite. A lot of her friends from the ward were there so Jason said she had a blast. Although I'm not too sure if he did because she didn't go to bed until after midnight and she got up at 6 a.m. Yes, she was dead tired the next day. And so was Jason. But they had a good time and again it's one of those moments that I know she'll always remember.

Her friend Paris got her hair caught in the zipper and I guess Afton decided to take a picture of it. You would've thought that Jason could've got a picture of him and Afton together, but Nope.



The day after the camp out (Aug. 9th), Afton and I went to a baby shower for Jason's cousin, Ryan and Val. They are expecting their second and it's a girl. They are going to name her Brisa (breeze in Spanish) and probably call her Bri for short. Or at least I will. I think it's a really cute name. They played some really fun games. One game, Val left the room, and everyone had to draw a picture of her the best they could remember. And I won! I never win anything. It was so exciting. I let Afton pick the gift and open it. We got a photo album.

After the shower, I had to run some errands and do some shopping. So Afton and I had a girls day out. Well, she was asleep for part of it. She was so tired from the camp out. Our first stop was Target and she had fallen asleep in the car, so I laid her down in the shopping cart and she slept through the whole store. I think we were there for like an hour. She got a good nap in. After Target, I'd promised her that she could go to Build-a-bear and use the rest of her gift card. She bought a new outfit and some cute red shoes. We met Misty and Dylen and Adam at the mall while we were there and the girls had fun playing together.
